Nearly each morning since America went on coronavirus lockdown, Suzanne McMinn has risen at 2 a.m. to bake in her residence kitchen. She’s working there as much as 15 hours a day, seven days per week.
However she’s not cooking for herself, principally. She’s cranking out dozens of orders each day for individuals everywhere in the U.S.—individuals who discovered her on Etsy.
On her farm in Roane County, W.Va., Ms. McMinn has cows, a dozen chickens and a kitchen through which she bakes cookies, scones, biscuits, muffins and breads. She works alone however is hardly singular. Hundreds of her friends all throughout the nation do what she does, daily: promote the merchandise of their humble residence kitchens on the web.
